Sawtell FC are very excited to announce our new senior coaching team for the 2020 season.

Our head men’s coach for 2020 is Jody Jenkins. Jody moved to Sawtell from Wales in 2018. He started his playing career at English Premiere League team AFC Bournemouth where he played for 4 years as a school boy and youth player and also acquired his UEFA C coaching license.

He then played for Welsh Premiere league club Barry Town for 2 years professionally. In this time they were league winners, premier cup winners, league cup winners, league runners up and Jody made 4 appearances in champions league qualifiers.

After playing for several other clubs both professionally and semi professionally he then played for 9 years for Welsh club Croesyceiliog in division 1 and 2 where he also coached for the final 18 months.

Jody will be joined by Sawtell’s very own Joe Skrtic as assistant coach. Joe represented the ACT in the Nationals and played for the ACT School Boys Team.  He trained with the AIS before playing in the NSW State League for Canberra Metro/Canberra Croatia. He has overseas experience with the First Grade squad at NK Zagreb and NK Radnik in Croatia.

He played for several other Clubs in Canberra before moving to Sawtell. He also played First Grade for Sawtell FC and has coached youth teams for the Club. In recent years he has been coaching High Performance Teams for North Coast Football. In this time his teams have won the U 13’s NCF in 2017 and U14’s NCF for 2018 in the Newcastle NPL.

Both Joe and Jody join our senior coaching team alongside Northern NSW Football’s ‘Women’s Coach of the Year’ Rachael Oberleuter. Rachael has recently completed the technical elements of her 7 day C license course in Newcastle and will coach our senior women’s teams in 2020.

A huge welcome to Jody and welcome back to Joe! Exciting times ahead!
